A high school football coach game you play in ChatGPT
Kickhollow is a text high school football coaching game that runs inside ChatGPT: you take over a fictional small-town program, recruit prospects, set the depth chart and call the game plan, and a game engine plays one game day per real day. ChatGPT narrates each game from the engine's play-by-play, and it costs nothing, with no app to install.

How to start coaching
- Start a program. In ChatGPT, say “Let's play Kickhollow” and, if you like, name a made-up town and a mascot. You get a 36-player roster and a seat in an 8-school conference.
- Check your roster. The card shows every player's position, class year and rating. Pick your starters, or let the best-rated players start everywhere.
- Read the scouting report. Your next opponent's unit grades and run-pass tendency are in the card. A defense that stacks the box against a run-heavy offense wins the guessing game.
- Call the game plan. Choose run-heavy, balanced or pass-heavy; a defense against the run, balanced or in coverage; how aggressive to be; and a skill player to feature.
- Play the game day. Say “play today's game”. The engine decides it; ChatGPT calls the key moments. The next game day opens at midnight.

Prices from each game's App Store listing, checked 6 October 2026; they change. If you want to control every snap, an arcade game like Retro Bowl College fits better. If you want a program you build a few minutes a day, with friends in the same conference, that is what Kickhollow does.

Questions
Is it really a text game?
Yes. You coach in plain language and the card shows the roster, recruiting board, standings and box scores. There is no 3D game or controller.
Who decides the games?
A deterministic engine on our server, from both teams' starters and game plans. ChatGPT only narrates the result, so it can't fudge a score.
How long is a season?
Nine game days, one per real day: seven conference games, then semifinals or consolation games, then placement finals. The next day is Signing Day, when recruits sign and the new season starts.
Are the players real?
No. Every school, town and player is fictional. There are no real players or school trademarks.
Do I need a paid ChatGPT plan?
Kickhollow itself costs nothing. Plugins in ChatGPT are available on the plans OpenAI offers them on.
